Christiane Humke, Ph.D.
Dr. Humke (Ph.D., Fairleigh Dickinson University) received specialized training in cognitive behavioral therapy through her work at North Shore University Hospital-Cornell Medical College and through a post-doctoral fellowship at the American Institute for Cognitive Therapy. Dr. Humke has extensive experience in the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders (including Panic Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder). She helps individuals cope effectively with chronic illness, and has conducted workshops with breast cancer patients. In addition, she addresses work-related problems and career issues. She has complemented her clinical work with research on factors relevant to the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder, adjustment issues in cancer patients and alcohol dependence. Dr. Humke has supervised doctoral students, psychiatry residents, and post-doctoral fellows in the cognitive behavioral treatment of patients, and provides consultation for licensed professionals. She was an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Clinical and Counseling Psychology at Columbia University, where she taught the advanced doctoral-level course on cognitive behavioral therapy. She also held a faculty position as a Clinical Instructor at New York University Medical School. Dr. Humke is one of the Founding Fellows of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.
